Bast

Bastet (also known as Bast) is an ancient Egyptian goddess who is the protector of cats, women, and children. She is depicted as a woman with the head of a domesticated cat and often carried a sistrum (a musical instrument) in her hand. Bastet is considered a benevolent goddess and is associated with fertility, motherhood, and the sun. She is believed to protect women during childbirth and to help them conceive. In addition to her role as a protector of cats, she is also associated with other animals, such as lions and leopards.
